USA TODAY / ABC News Feature May 2005
Drs. Sean Mackey & Raymond Gaeta are pleased to have had the opportunity to work closely with ABC and USA TODAY in their collaborative effort to spotlight Pain Management in the recent feature series "The Fight Against Pain". The series represents an unprecedented effort to bring the important topic of pain and its consequences and treatment options to a wide audience. Beginning Saturday, May 6 on an assortment of ABC News programs, and Monday, May 8th in the pages of USA TODAY, a variety of features examined how pain impacts millions of people every day, as well as focused on breakthrough treatment technologies currently under development, including very promising research underway at Stanford's Pain Management Center.
The coverage also coincided with the release of an exclusive national public opinion poll on pain co-sponsored by ABC News, USA TODAY and the Stanford University Medical Center. An ABC News summary of the poll can be found here. The full publication of the survey results is available in Adobe PDF format here.
